Photography

This is another landscape photo that was taken in Sharm el Sheikh in August 2013. It was taken with a Canon 450D camera on the auto setting. I like this photo so much as it shows what a perfect place is was, no clouds in the sky and nice tranquil sea. I like how it shows how far the pier goes out into the sea, it looks like it goes on for miles.

Photography - Silhouette

This was an attempt at a silhouette photo within a photo. It is a photo of someones holding an umbrella with a background photo of Sharm el Sheikh, I got the inspiration for this type of image after seeing something similar on a web page, but it didn't quite work out as well as I wanted it too.

Photography

This is another photo that I took a few weeks ago, it was taken on a Canon 1100D with a 50mm lense on the Auto Setting. I like this because even though that the whole photo looks washed out, the flower is really the only pop of color in it.

Development for C4D project

This is the sketching and planning that I have done for my C4D project. I have tried to annotate images that include objects that I am going to be modelling. I've also drawn rough sketches in what I want to include for my project.

Photography Evaluation

This image that was taken at the Harry Potter Studio Tour in London reminds me of the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, because of the vibrant colours, and the packaging on the products. I think that the sharpest and clearest point of this image is the second and fourth shelf, as I think it s the brightest parts due to the vibrant colours. I think that the other parts are less vibrant as they are a bit darker and not as well lit; this then creates a shadow effect.
The light in this photograph was artificial as taken in a room; there was light within the cabinet creating a shadow effect on the top shelf of the display. The time of day cannot be estimated as this image was taken indoors as you cannot see any sunlight within this image. Also when I took this photo, the flash was fired this due to the fact that the lighting was not substantial enough.
The main lines are horizontal and vertical, as you can see the lines of the shelves and the lines of the cabinet. The vertical lines give the sense of direction showing the height and the horizontal lines give a sense of depth as it is showing the objects on the shelf.
The shapes that are repeated throughout are oblongs, rectangles and squares, which are more or less the same things; this gives the sense of continuity.
The tone of this image is very warm, with all the neon, vibrant colours, and I think that the colours are the most significant part of the image and I think that is was makes it eye catching.
If there was a Rule of Thirds grid on this image it would there would be something significant in every square of the grid.
I took this image with a Canon 450D and a 18-55mm lens. When I took this I had the camera on auto setting and the ISO was set at 400, the aperture was at f/4, and the shutter speed was 1/60. As the lighting wasn’t very substantial and it was behind a cabinet and needed to make sure I didn’t get any glare on the glass, even though the flash did fire, it surprisingly didn’t create a glare on the glass.

When I look at this image it makes me thing about all the effort that went it making the props for the Harry Potter films that probably didn’t even get shown on screen.

Photography Evaluation

The areas that appear the clearest in this photograph is the central part of the sky, where it is mainly red and pink.
The light in this image is all completely natural. There is no artificial light in this photograph as it was taken outside. The light is coming from the sunset in the direction of Manchester Airport, which is in a North Western direction from my house.
Even thought they are not actual lines in the photographs the clouds create the sense of lines, they are more like brush strokes. The black parts in the photograph, which create the silhouette, also create the lines of the horizon.
There is repetition within this photograph as there are multiple different colours but they are all on the same spectrum of colours. And also with some of the tall buildings in the background in the city.
As you can see way into the distance in the image it creates the effect that it is 3D, also because the houses are on an angle and going down towards the edge of the photograph. There is depth in the image as you can see the horizon way off into the distance, and the sky looks as if it is on different levels, which is created from the difference in all the colours.
If I were to feel this image it would feel as if it would feel like silky. The tone of this image goes from dark to light to dark again.
The colours in this image are very warm, with the pinks, purples, reds and blood oranges.
If I was to put a Rule of Thirds grid on this image, the bottom of the image with the silhouette of the houses would be in the bottom row of squares, then the bit of the sky with the red streak in the sky. And then in top row I would have the purple bit of the sky.

Top capture this image I used a 18-55mm with a Canon 1100D. The settings I had to capture this image were set at f/10 for the aperture, as is was a different day to the other image that I took, I felt that it needed a different aperture to make it more vibrant, even though I did a quick edit with it in Photoshop. The shutter speed was set at 1/100 as the sunset was setting very fast and it went dark not long after this was taken. The ISO was set at 800 bas the image light was much darker than before on the other image. And I had auto white balance on this image. Also the flash didn’t go off when I took this image.

When I took this mage it was at the stage in the year when it was beginning to become very cold and the days were beginning to get shorter. It was just on the end of the summer weather and moving into the autumnal weather. When I look at this image it makes me feel like the winter weather has finally arrived.

C4D Project

This is my C4D project, and I am recreating the Great Hall from Harry Potter. So far this is what I have created. I only made one copy of the tables with the goblets and plates on then duplicated it for each table and changed the color for each of the different houses.

The rendered version of the Great Hall so far.

Cinema4D

This is one of the objects that I have modeled for my 3D Modelling project. When we first started this project I found it difficult, but as the weeks have progressed I have become more comfortable with it. When I first did my goblet, I had a hole in the middle of it, and I have since gone back and amended it and I now have the above object as part of my project.

Adobe Illustrator

When it came to creating this in Adobe Illustrator I thought it would be an easy project, but as I learned this was one of the most difficult things I have ever created. I really didn't like this project, and the finished product looks a bit creepy and he looks like an old man, I don't think that this is my best work.

DVD Sleeve

This is the DVD sleeve to go with the movie poster, it is a little different to the poster in terms of colors. The color of the person is a little more purple on this version. All this was created in Photoshop, and this was before I had properly learned how to do everything in it, in a way it was self taught. One thing that I think could be changed about the sleeve would be the logos at the bottom, as I think they are a little bit big.

Movie Poster

My movie poster that I was asked to create, it features one of my cast mates from my pantomime. It was create for a fantasy adventure film, a film like Lord of The Rings or Harry Potter. The only thing that I don't like about this poster is that the person looks a bit green, and the fact that it is a pretty simple poster, its almost like a teaser poster for a film. Also the title doesn't really stand out. But for a first attempt, I am pleased with my efforts.

Music Video

This is my groups effort at 'recreating' a music video. For our first big project as Level 2 Media Students, we were so proud with how this turned out in the end. The quality of this video isn't excellent as we filmed it on handy-camsAfter three very cold days filming in Hyde Park, we produced this. My role with this project was playing Florence and also the technical roles I held were assistant editor and I also had the responsibility of making sure that all the paperwork - risk assessments, actor release forms, were filled out and completed.

Photography - Long Exposure

This was one of my first attempts are long exposure photography, it was taken at the Firework Championships in Skipton. For my first attempt at long exposure photography this was one of the best photos that I managed to capture. The settings for this photo were Aperture - f/22, ISO - 100, and for the shutter speed I had it on bulb mode and exposed it for 30 seconds.
The image above has actually been made more vibrant in Photoshop, just to make it stand out a bit more, and make it look like neon lights.

Cut out animation

This is my cut out animation that I completed in my first year of college; this was one of the first animations that I had ever created. Almost everything that is featured in the animation was hand drawn by me, as it was a solo project. Overall I think it took me about 5 days to complete, and it was frustrating when the background was moved or it didn't quite match up to the frame before hand, but seeing as it was my first attempt I am very proud of it, even though it is a bit rough around the edges.

Photography - Landscape

This is my landscape photos for my exhibition, it was taken on a Canon 1100D, and the settings for this photo were at: Aperture - f/4.5, ISO - 200, Shutter speed - 1/60. As the original image didn't look very effective as it was washed out and misty looking, I decided to change it in Photoshop, changing the vibrance and exposure, to make the colors stand out more. This was taken just as the weather was leaving Autumn and turning into Winter.

Photography - Harry Potter

This is one of my exhibition photos that was taken at the Harry Potter Studio Tour in London. It was taken with a Canon 1100D and the settings for this photo were at: Aperture - f/5, ISO - 400, Shutter speed - 1/60. This image is edited as the original looked a bit washed out and I wanted it to look more vibrant and to make it stand out a bit more. When I edited it in Photoshop I changed the exposure levels and the vibrance.
